We schedule the interview two or three times, his life is spent on a train or plane and when he is not in a meeting he is in the trance of a trip that, through Spain, is usually accompanied by a lack of coverage. Finally we decided to challenge the bad communications that the companies and Renfe refuse to fix and we make a patience pact, we will move forward with the conversation and we will resume each time we run out of the possibility of communicating after a while. It might seem like a bumpy interview, but Miguel Ángel, an affable and patient businessman, turns problems into anecdotes and even makes us end up laughing after each call. And it is that the world of the entrepreneur who undertakes new projects is a continuous challenge, cliché shot, and to obtain the long-awaited success in a project and make it profitable, it is not only necessary to be willing to invest savings and investments and dedicate hours, also It is key to be patient and know how to smile despite the fact that the environment is sometimes not conducive.
How do the SKB get to Mexico?
It is an entertaining story. A few years ago I decided to invest in the Riviera Maya. I had funds to invest, my project in Spain had worked and I always thought that Mexico would be one of those places where I could set up something that would work. This would also allow me to diversify on the one hand and not have savings stopped on the other.
I see that being an entrepreneur is carried in the genes…
Exactly, there is always a voice that whispers to you and does not let you be still.
And then the adventure with the SKB begins?
No! The first thing was, with a partner, to buy a piece of land in the jungle that we believed due to its location was optimal for setting up a business that would attract American and Canadian tourists, who are the tourists who most often come to the Riviera Maya on vacation. The first thing we thought of and set up was a bullring.
A bullring?
Yes, we were looking for a different experience from the classic 5-star resort where you can sleep, have large pools, eat and drink. There is already (and a lot) of that. It occurred to us that showing and allowing tourists to experience what is done in Spain through bullfighting would be a good option. And we ride it. We looked for ranchers to have cows and fighting bulls, we also offered typical Spanish cuisine such as tortillas and wine. The idea was to be able to live an experience in which the tourist would attend a bullfight and enjoy our gastronomy.
AND?
It didn’t work. On paper it seemed that it had to go well but it didn’t work, so we had to rethink and redo the idea of the project.
And this is where the SKB come in,…
No, neither. At that moment we decided to convert the plaza into a Mexican wrestling stadium.
The idea was that tourists could attend typical Mexican wrestling matches, for this we searched for and hired specialist wrestlers, who are authentic athletes.
They are the ones who fight with a mask, yes?
Exact! An afternoon of Mexican wrestling in which to have fun and see something different from what the Riviera Maya area already offers on a recurring basis… and boring.
AND….
It also failed, we were not able to attract the volume of tourists to make the project profitable. And, to all this, the pandemic also came…
Oh my gosh!
Yes, and the unused facilities began to fall apart. We had to do something and that’s when I saw them. It was that. I saw the SkyBubbles on TV and thought they were a perfect fit for what we were looking for.
And how do you find contact with Skybubbles?
Well, honestly, I started searching the internet, I saw several suppliers of inflatable bubbles and I decided to interview the two that seemed most powerful and professional to me.
How was your visit at Skybubbles?
It was what made me tip the balance clearly. Despite the price, because they obviously don’t have the cheapest product you can find on the market, it was clear to me that I had to do it with them if I wanted the project to work. Life teaches you that the cheapest supplier often becomes more of an enemy to your goals than a source of savings.
So it was something like a crush?
A crush that for the moment confirms that the path we have chosen this time is the correct one. The offer we make at OOM Bubble is clearly differentiating and we are increasingly noticing it in reservations. We closed the purchase at the end of October 22 and in May we already had the SKBs available to our customers so that they could reserve them.

What does OOM Bubble offer differently from other resorts in the area?
Everything has nothing to do with the other proposals in the area. The experience we offer is totally unique and magical; sleep in the middle of the jungle with all the comfort imaginable. I assure you that seeing how night falls from your room or getting up in the morning and listening to the sounds that wild nature offers you is something that is unique. We have also complemented it with excursions and experiences other than the typical boat trip through the sea and snorkeling that they all offer. Our clients can take guided excursions, bathe and snorkel in cenotes. In fact OOM SKBs are close to one! Being able to be, visit and bathe in cenotes transforms an excursion into an adventure and allows you to connect more, if possible, with the nature of the place, closely linked to our value proposition of living the Riviera Maya in a different way. You can also take long horseback rides in the area or take helicopter flights to see the jungle and the natural landscapes that the Riviera offers from a bird’s eye view. And all this is enlivened with a good lunch or dinner in our exclusive restaurant.

We are happy, we have just started but we already have more than 60% occupancy this month of January 23 and with several reservations for February. The rhythm is very positive, and the best news is that we started only with local clients but little by little we have been able to attract American and Canadian tourists as well.

To all this, how do you promote yourself?
At the moment, good positioning and good reviews on Google and Booking are our best allies. Now we are in contact and negotiating with tour operators that complement and reinforce our positioning and our sales.
